Welcome to the family!

When most people think of orthodontics, they think of teenagers. However the American Association of Orthodontics recommends that a qualified orthodontist should examine children no later than age seven. Dr. Auger can evaluate potential problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while baby teeth are still present. This is very important because some orthodontic problems are easier to correct if they are detected early. In doing so, you can avoid more complicated situations and minimize the treatment time and cost of your child’s future treatment.

The majority of our patients will not require immediate or early treatment and Dr. Auger will take a “wait-and-see” approach in which he will regularly evaluate the development of the permanent teeth, jaws, and face. These visits are provided to our Otter Club patients at no charge.

What is the Otter Club?

Dr. Auger’s Otter Club is designed for these young patients to be seen every six months for observation appointments. As a member they will receive helpful tools to develop great habits for a healthier, natural looking smile and in the process we offer lots of ways for them to earn fun prizes. The Otter Club will assist your child in becoming more comfortable and knowledgeable about orthodontic treatment when treatment is needed in the future. We want all of our patients to feel like they are a part of our office, even if they are not yet in treatment.

How much does the Otter Club cost?

At your child’s routine appointment, his or her growth and development will be monitored until the optimal time in growth has been reached to begin orthodontic treatment. Digital radiographs and diagnostic records (if recommended) are included in your six month observation appointments and there is NO FEE associated with the Otter Club Program.

How does my child sign up?

Bring your young child in for an initial evaluation at your convenience or bring them with a family member already in treatment; either way we’re happy to help them join the club! The initial appointment will take about an hour in which we will take digital radiographs and diagnostic photos, discuss potential problems to watch, and answer any questions you have. Just call the office at 831-373-3765 to set up your child’s initial examination. We look forward to having your child be a part of the club!
